C-band feeds ?? Want to have them if possible ...

Post by shadowman2004 »

Hi

I know it's best to have a big dish, but my channelmaster 1.2m
has to do it. Before I buy a receiver for c-band,
I hope I can watch something with my channelmaster (channels & feeds).
I live in Belgium.

Are these C-band satellites possible (1.2m) or not ?

Express A1R 40°E
Arabsat 30.5°E
Arabsat 26°E
Intelsat 707 1°W
Atl. Bird3 5°W
Telecom 2D 8°W
Express 3A 11°W
NSS7 22°W
Intelsat 905 24.5°W
Intelsat 907 27.5°W
Intelsat 801 31.5°W
Intelsat 903 34.5°W
Satcom C1 37.5°W
and finally NSS 806 40.5°W

Thanks for any help/info

Greetings

Sorry. I think you need a 1.80 m. dish (and it is hardly sufficient)

Digital , maybe:
Atlantic Bird 3 at 5°W:
http://www.eutelsat.com/satellites/5wab3_popd.html#
(some channels: Jamahirya Satellite Channel)
Telecom 2D at 8°W , you can give it a try:
http://www.tbs-satellite.com/tse/online ... irp_c.html

NSS 7 22°W some channels :?

Analog , reception possible:
Arabsat 26°E
Express 3A 11°W

But 1m80 is indeed the minimum size for good reception !!

Goede ochtend Cookie,

I´m interested in feeds of US sports on the western hemisphere.
One option is Ku band especially 12,5 deg E, 15 deg E, 18 deg E, 22 deg E.
But additional feeds are available in C band - I guess not fully covered here because C band reception is not something, which really everybody has including myself.
180 is quite a bit too huge for the circumstances I have, but 150 is a possible diameter. So do you think I can give 150 a try or did you write "180 is indeed minimum for good reception" because you didn´t think about 150 (not every manufacturer offers 150).

Many thanks and best regards!

I'm not a specialist or engineer , but ,
Do I read Western hemisphere (USA) C-band ??
For Europe that means , NO CHANCE ,
a real BIG dish is required / really necessary !!
Calculators:
http://www.satsig.net/seticalc.htm
http://www.datasat.de/datasat/position_sa.htm
http://www.mlesat.com/calculat.html

But you can try with 150cm on:
http://www.lyngsat.com/i805.html
http://www.lyngsat.com/nss806.html

http://www.lyngsat.com/pas9.html maybe ??

But it's really much better to take at least 180cm !!

Do you speak dutch ??
Want is't voor mij een heel stuk gemakkelijker om iets uit te leggen ,
op voorwaarde , dat ik er natuurlijk teminste iets van afweet

Hello Cookie,

sorry for writing ambiguously:
western hemi - I wanted to designate the spehre from 1 deg western to 58 deg western - but that is of course incorrect - i didn´t think like someone receiving C band, but only like someone receiving Ku band - so my fault.
Otherwise, many thanks for your big effort

I don´t speak dutch, i just had something in mind and used babelfishto start the posting in dutch - btw babelfish seems to suck, because it is not able to translate your dutch words in english, so that these make sense.

best regards
john

Speaking For Belgium , Ku-band & 150cm:
Every satellite with ku-band & an Europe Beam , between 1°w-58°W ,
also including , 5°W , 8°W , 14°W , 27,5W , no problem at all !! :)
Except for Nilesat , thatone is a thoughone ,
sometimes , H-polarisation gives a acceptable reception ,
most of the time a real disaster !!
V is possible with 150cm = acceptable !!
Amos 1 & 2 , reception is ok , but at bad weather , weak !!

I'm using a turnable 150cm dish , since 1995 :)

I can receive TP3675 from here with Triax TD110 (105cm):

http://www.lyngsat.com/eam1.html

I live in Belgium too... :)

The signal is quite weak and breaks when it rains.

If you are interested in details do not hesitate to contact me directly.
