can 20w be picked up in southern ireland with a 1.1m dish?????

YES it should B ok in Ireland (49.7dbW)
(A decibel referenced to one watt. Expresses units of decibels above 1 W. X (dBW) = 10 log 10 (X / 1W))

but if U go 4 1.2M dish (50dbW) as long the dish's installation is done by the specialists.
Also you need is Polar mount, muti-satellite antenna mount aligned so single movement allows the antenna to track the arc of the Clarke Belt.
This satellite (INTELSAT 603 ) is INCLINED 2.2 DEGREE.

Should B ok, as long the dish's installation is done by the specialists.
This satellite INTESAT 905 AT 24.5*WEST is occasional,
you will have 2 check this satellite every day 2 C if it is active.

I WAS THERE YESTERDAY AND PICKED A FEW UP BUT AT AROUND 3PM THEY ALL DISAPEARED, IM TOLD CAN ONLY SEE THIS BIRD DURING THE DAY

MOST OF THE TIME IN 4:2:2.
