Background information on the transmission:

On 27 May, ESA astronaut Frank De Winne will fly to the International Space Station for a sixth month mission during which he will become the first European Commander of the ISS.
The Belgian will lift off from Baikonur, Kazakhstan, aboard a Soyuz capsule, along with Canadian astronaut Bob Thirsk and Russian cosmonaut Roman Romanenko.

Today's feed will cover the roll-out of the Soyuz launcher towards its launch pad and background shots of the campaign in Baikonur since the arrival of the astronaut team.

Pre launch preparation for ESA astronaut ESA TV News

Background information on the transmission:

One day to go for Frank De Winne, Bob Thirsk and Roman Romanenko. This B Roll will include final MAPS of the Soyuz launcher and the traditional pre launch activities with presentation of the crew to the State Commission which authorises the mission and the latest press conference of the cosmonauts as they are called in Russia.

Background information on the transmission:

The latest about Frank De Winne, Roman Romanenko and Bob Thirsk from Baikonur with images of final preparations for their Expedition 20/OasISS mission. The feed will include the launch-morning activities following crew wake up: suit up, walk-out, and the final wave on the steps to the launcher - very ceremonial activities which have not really changed since Yuri Gagarin first went into the cosmos but which are always full of emotion.

Live launch coverage of Expedition 20/OasISS launch from Baikonur ESA TV live

Background information on the transmission:

ESA astronauts Frank De Winne from Belgium, Roman Romanenko from Russia and Bob Thirsk from Canada will fly to the International Space Station from Baikonur aboard a Soyuz launcher today at 10:34 GMT.

ESA TV will provide live coverage of the countdown to launch and flight into orbit with images from the historic Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan and also from the Mission Control Centre near Moscow. The transmission will also include early-morning images of the crew suit-up, walk-out, and wave as they go onto the launcher.

The ESA live transmission starts at 10:00 GMT but live images will be fed from Baikonur from 09:15 GMT for line-up and background.

Highlights will be available shortly after the launch on the ESA TV ftp server. Please see the ESA TV portal for access details.
